I LOVE Harry Potter. I can not wait for the next book, but at the same time I don't want it to be released.
The Gossip Girl, A List and It Girl series are also favorites of mine. Why? I have no idea, but they are addicting.
"Between the Bridge and the River" by Craig Ferguson is one of my favorites also. I love The Late Late Show and he writes exactly like he speaks.
"The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway is probably my most favorite. It so beautiful and I hardly understand it.

I read a lot but my absolute favorites are the classics. French, Russian, English, Turkish classic literature is always great. I've been reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the times of Cholera. And i recommend it to every one, it's just so good! He's very very talented. Hmm some of my favorite writers are: Gabriel Garcia Marquez Paulo Coelho Dostoyevski -The Idiot is just amazing Tolstoy Jack London - must read Martin Eden!!! Irvin Yallom - books about psychiatry Amin Maalouf Jane Austen - of course And some Turkish authors ;D Lately, i'm so interested in chick-lit too. Like Lauren Weisberger and her books! They are so much fun to read and empty my brain.

I like Lauren Weisberger, but sadly, I feel that she doesn't write that well. She has some amazing plots and all that jazz.
I've been trying to do this thing where I read a 'classic' in between the 'popcorn for the brain' as my aunt calls the chick fics. I read "Catcher and the Rye" last summer and hated it. Maybe it's just me?

LOL I prefer the "popcorn for the brain" books too, and Harry Potter. Most of the "classics" I've read haven't done much for me. I sorta liked Wuthering Heights, even though all of the characters were dysfunctional and insane... maybe that's why I liked it? And Of Mice and Men wasn't bad, but it was also short. I liked Romeo & Juliet cause I pictured the Leo movie in my head the entire time we read it in English class, and I liked MacBeth because it was twisted and bloody, but other than that, I was kinda "meh" to most of them. And I can't really see reading them for fun. I'm probably just not mature enough; I like my Stephen King and Nicholas Sparks and whatnot LOL.

I hated all the books we had to read in school. The Outsiders... hated it. To Kill a Mockingbird... never want to see it again. I really hated The Importance of Being Ernest. Okay, I hated writing an essay about it. I'm not too fond of Shakespeare. I like his sonnets. I think the big reason why I hate all the books I read in school is because the majority of the time we read them as a class. I read really fast, so I would be done with the book 3 weeks before the class. And by the time the class finished, I was sick of the book.

I love "popcorn for the brain" books too but classics can be a total pain in the ass if you read them for the class. Usually, when i read a classic book, i watch the movie after it and then i like it even more. It happened with Wuthering Heights -the characters are really dysfunctional, Julie - and with Anna Karenina and Idiot and many others. And they are not fun books either, i agree but i feel good when i read them, i don't know why. But i recommend Love in the Times of Cholera to anyone, anyday. ;D
