Thoughts on the new album?

What are your thoughts on the new album? I know we haven't heard much about it yet, really nothing concrete, so let's speculate!

What are you hoping for with the new album? What musical direction/sound would you prefer the guys go for this time? Are you hoping for more ballads? Upbeat songs? Mid-tempos?

I'm excited to hear it. I really liked what I heard on HOC. According to Nick, he doesn't think it makes sense to have a Dance/Rock cd. LOL So I think we can safely say it won't be like that.

I read that thread over at LD, "This is just weird..." Julie, you started a fight. LOL It was quite comical reading it, although it does make me want to get an account just to bitch people out for being morons. Why would you post about 5 million messages a day on a BSB forum if you really don't care about them and think they suck? Ehhh, maybe it's just me...

AHHHH, I know!!!! Obviously it's not just you, cause you saw what I posted in that thread LOL. I'm trying to get to 500 posts so I can have an avatar, and arguing with people is a fun way to get there. I'm not in any of the little cliques there, so it's hard to rack up posts any other way.

I dunno, I'm the kind of fan where I pretty much support and like what they do, no matter what. I don't absolutely love every song they've recorded; there are a few songs I will skip over when I'm listening to their CDs. But in general, I love all their music. I ADORE NG. And while I don't think you need to love each and every song and album of a group to be considered a fan, it pisses me off to see these people who skulk around a Bsb message board ALL DAY and just post negative comments about the guys and their music. It's seriously one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. If you're not a fan, why would you spend so much time posting on a forum for Bsb fans?? And if you are a fan, why do you constantly trash them?? Sorry, but if you don't like the guys, and you don't like the music, you're not a freaking fan!! It's very simple. But god forbid you put that logic out there on LD... they'll attack you for it. That's how I'm close to hitting 500 posts there LOL, cause I just feel the need to defend the guys and other fans who defend the guys.

But anyway, about the new album - I loved what I heard on HOC too, and I would be very happy with another pop/rock CD! As someone said in that thread on LD, as long as they don't start singing about being "Backstreetlicious" and spelling out the names of fruits in their songs, I'm almost guaranteed to like whatever they put out.

That is so true! I'm on this one message board where all they do is talk negitive about EVERYTHING. When NG came out, they were all it's crap and the same ole, but then on the other hand they were all, I hope they take chances and not do the same thing, then they'll say something like, they shouldn't even try something different and stick to what they know. I'm thinking, you can't have it both ways. I'm so tired of the negitivity and everyone being in "the know" all the time when they really know nothing more than anyone else. I'm so tired of it and yeah, why are you a fan if you don't care anymore? If you're gonna nitpick and critize everything they do no matter what? Why waste your time and energy and why buy the cd?

Ahh, so it's not just LD? That's too bad that so many fans are like that. I think it's just that some PEOPLE are so negative! I never thought I was an optimist until I started talking to people like that online, and then I realized I am SO glass half-full! LOL

It's so much more fun if you can just ENJOY it and be EXCITED, not prepared to criticize and hate it. They just must be miserable people... they'd have to be, to be so down on everything.

Also, I think they like attention. Cause it's one thing to have an opinion... it's another to post that opinion over and over again when you know it annoys other people. They do it on purpose.

That's what I don't get is why they are on the site if they are going to bash BSB? It's one thing to say "Nick has no fashion sense", but it's another thing to say they shouldn't even bother putting out an album. It reminds me of the N'Sync fans that would go to the Backstreet chatrooms and bash them. Why bother? And what will it accomplish? People have different opinions and there's no need to drill yours into their head, because in long run, they are going to feel the same way they did in the beginning. They all sound like 13 year olds over there, but the sad thing is that they are probably grown bitter women. Maybe I will get an account to make me feel better about myself. LOL

By the way Julie, from what I read in the thread (< ryhmes, hehe) you were the only one that sounded like you had a brain.

P.S What was so bad about NG anyway? I love it, in fact, it is in the cd player in my truck.

Ughhh, I guess the negative comments about NG are everywhere. It pissed me off to no ends when the album was released and people were starting to complain that the songs on there were already old and they should have put something that they haven't heard... I was like if you didn't want to know what those songs were gonna sound like then you shouldn't have d/led them... some fans can never be satisfied.

Erin, don't get me started on fans bashing the guys... nothing gets my blood boiling than a fan saying that Nick is getting too fat or when Nick loses weight, the SAME fan says that Nick is too skinning.. alls I got to say is grrrrrr...

Ok onto what we were talking about... LOL The new album, to tell you the truth I'm sooo excited to hear what the remaining four are gonna sound like without Kevin, what their sound it gonna be but at the same time I'm worried on how it's gonna go, are people gonna like it and what fans are gonna say (you know the guys are gonna be listening or reading about how fans like it or not). We all know that Nick was worried about using the Euro sound with Rock, now I don't know about you but when Nick worries, I worry.. lol I just want everything to be perfect for them. What I want on the album, I guess want alittle bit of everything, from ballads, dance songs and mid tempos but I'm sure that whatever the guys come up with, I'll be happy and I'm sure I love anything that comes from them.

I'm with Rose, I want a second solo album from Nick.

I think people forget manners when they are on the internet. It's a little easier to say whatever you want, because there is a computer screen between you and everyone else. I don't type anything that I would not say to someones face and I think it's dumb to put someone down when their opinions differ from yours. If we all listen to other opinions we just might change our mind and learn a little.

Got off topic there... Anyway, I think a lot of people forget that the boys are real people just like you and I, and they are also come equipped with feelings. Opinions are fine, insults are something else and if someone is old enough to know how to type then they should know the difference between the two.

Nah, you're not that off-topic, Erin, cause you know I started this thread after posting a few times in that one on LD LOL. I was just doing it as an experiment to see what a thread on the same topic would be like here. And it was just how I expected - everyone who has posted in THIS thread is positive, enthusiastic, and courteous. That's why I like this forum much better LOL.

If you don't like NG, that's fine, but you don't need to constantly repeat that it sucked like you're quoting a proven fact and then belittle people who DO like it for having no taste. I prefer to follow the Thumper rule... "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all." Sometimes, you just need to keep your opinions to yourself, unless you want to get everyone all riled up... and the problem is, I think that's exactly what they're out to do, because then it gives them something to occupy themselves with.

And yeah, I know for a fact that some of the wenches on LD are like 50 years old. They're older than my freaking MOTHER, and they're obsessed with criticizing the Backstreet Boys. The phrase "GET A LIFE!" has never been more appropriate.

Good call girl. On the board I'm on and I'm only on that one and this one cause typically I can't stand the immaturity associated with message boards, I have 0 tolerance and altho the one I'm on used to be really good, it's gone downhill fast. Anyway, I always hear a lot of it's the same boring thing and that they haven't grown and that basically their last good album was Millennium and everything after was crap. It's so...odd because like I said, they'll go on and on about them growing and then when they try something different, suddenly it's they need to stick to what they know and they're wannabes. I'm so tired of the negitivity. What's worse if you feel differently, they either don't acknowledge it or blatently ignore you and only respond to those that feel the same way, which bugs me to no end.

You made me laugh. Your not even a member of LD and you get it. LOL There's a couple ppl on there, one mostly, that get on my nerves about that. They don't even like or respect them and yet every single thread they are in bashing them and then getting all upset because ppl are gripping at them. It's so stupid and childish and a waste of time.

I myself can't wait for the new album. I'm sure I'll love it. I've loved them all so far. And Nick did a beautiful job on that clip on HOC (notice my siggy, lol). If that's any indication of what the album is going to sound like then I'm sure I'm going to love it and it's going to be worth the wait.
