You guys are so on the same page with me, and like Jen said, even the ones who don't go to LD get it!
Yeah, so if I ever get another chance to make fun of LD in BMS, I can think of a couple of posters who will be included.

The phrase "GET A LIFE!" has never been more appropriate. Exactly. I still really don't understand why people can't stop thinking of them as a boyband. I admit they were boybands in the 90s. But not anymore. What should they do more to be taken seriously? I'm not saying that because i care about those comments because i don't give a flying f*ck but just because the guys are refusing to make what they call "today's music" with almost naked women and featurings with rap stars just to get their sales high, i'm with them; all the way. They believe in the music they do and they do it very good, and whatever they do, i'll support them.

I've always wondered why it is so bad to be called a boy band. Technically, they are boys and they're in a band. There's a really weird poem I had to read about how humans give meanings to words. It was a good thought, but I thought the poem was horrible.

I see nothing wrong with calling them boybands. And technically, most of other big groups like Rolling Stones, U2 and so on are also boybands. But the term is used so much just to discriminate the pretty boys who got together to sing that it became a sticker on them. That's what i don't like.

Yeah, I just don't like the connotation that goes with the term "boyband" - that they're nothing but manufactured, talentless, bubblegum popstars. Maybe they started out that way (besides the talentless part), but they clearly moved beyond the "boyband" thing years ago. But technically, yes, they're "boys," and they're in a band.

We all know that they started out that way. Because that was the "trend" back then. But if they couldn't improve themselves in years, they wouldn't be out there still making quality music.

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. I don't mind if they are referred to as a boyband, but when that stops people from listening to them, then it's a problem. It sucks that they are labeled as something that's not really them.

When i was browsing through youtube and backstreet boys videos, i saw a special program of wal-mart from the black and blue time. And Nick was complaining about the exact thing. That when they first started in Europe they were directly thrown into the basket of "boybands" when they were the only ones who could actually sing live.

Getting back to the album... lol. I'm really glad that they're going back to euro-dance (that's the rumor anyways...), I liked that music better than their new stuff on Never Gone. Don't get me wrong! I LOVED NG, but if you're a musician like I am, you tend to notice the repetition a lot more. I just really liked the euro-dance music, because I could come up with choreography for it, unlike pop/rock music.
