OMG, a fanfic question?! It's been so long! When I get a new idea, I usually type up a summary of the idea in a Word document, which eventually turns into an outline. I come up with a title, any original characters I need, and start plotting events. I rarely ever start writing until I have a solid idea planned out, unless it's just a short story. Then again, sometimes if the idea is really vivid in my head, I'll start writing without outlining. A lot of times it depends on the genre of the story and how much research is involved. I also usually don't start writing a story until I have a title, and I will often make a banner as soon as I have a title because it helps me get a feel for the story. I made several story banners this summer for novel ideas that I was playing around with.

Hey Nina! Welcome back! The forum has been pretty dead lately, but I know a few of us still check it regularly, so thanks for stopping by and saying hi! Hope you're doing well!

Wow, only a minute to go? They should have let them play one more minute! I could see where that would be annoying to hear music blasting night after night, but that's something you should consider when you decide to live near an outdoor concert venue.

I had no idea either. I saw them at this same venue for Never Gone, but I guess they didn't go past 11, so it wasn't an issue then. Apparently it's a noise thing, which I can understand, being that it's an outdoor venue, BUT this particular venue is right on Lake Michigan and surrounded by museums - there are no residential buildings around it. Plus, it was a Friday night. I think it's ridiculous.

Here is a video of how it all went down:

Long story short, everything was running really behind because the stage took a lot longer than expected to set up (first show and all), and the show started about an hour late. The Boys were supposed to take the stage at 9 and didn't go on until around 9:45. Chicago has an 11 pm curfew, which this particular venue is apparently very strict about, so when 11:00 hit, the show got shut down. They literally turned off the music at the beginning of More Than That and turned on all the house lights. The Boys fought to finish the show, offered to pay a fine, begged to be allowed to play one more song, but their mics got shut off, so the show just ended with five songs left to go. When they realized they weren't going to be allowed to do another song (before their mics got shut off), they promised they would come back to Chicago to play a full show, so it sounds like that is in the works now. It really sucked, but it wasn't the Boys fault, and it did make the show memorable. I can't complain because I went to St. Louis and saw the whole show the next night, and now we're getting another show out of it, so it's actually a pretty good deal! It made the news up in Chicagoland, so extra publicity for them, too! I just hope they play in the suburbs and not the city next time, especially this venue.

They are so awesome! In that moment, when they were about to be kicked off the stage, they promised they would come back to Chicago and play a full show, but I didn't know if that would actually happen - sounds like it's going to, though! They really didn't have to do that, but it says a lot about their character that they are really trying to make it happen! I heard they were originally trying to do a free show, but no one could agree to foot the bill, so it sounds like it's going to be discounted to people who had tickets to the original show. That's fine with me; I don't care if I have to pay for it. I'll be there!

Yeah, probably not, especially with Nick plague in the air! That still sucks, though. Hopefully they'll do a second North American leg with more Canadian dates, since you guys only got two to begin with. It's a pretty short tour, only a month to begin with, so they definitely need to come back!!

SO amazing!!! Between them bringing back Kevin and all the old choreography and then singing a lot of the new stuff, it was the best show I've ever been to!

I love all the solos Kevin's getting too! It definitely feels more balanced than their previous albums with Kevin.

That is so crazy, but I've heard the same thing from several people - Targets all over the country are completely sold out, and so are other stores, apparently! Either that's a good sign that the album is selling well, or these stores just completely underestimated us and did not stock enough. I know my Target did not appear to have very many on the shelves, and I was there right when it opened. Duh, we're 90s girls who still love the Backstreet Boys; of course we're gonna want the CD!

Aww! I absolutely love this album! It's so completely different from TIU, and that's a good thing! Ironically, I think this album is way more "them" than This is Us was LOL. It's a lot more personal; you can tell they had a hand in writing most of the songs. Some of the songs still have that techno/dance beat, but they don't have the same feel of trying too hard to sound relevant that I thought a lot of the songs on TIU had. And there are also those songs that are more "organic," as Kevin would say, that remind me more of Never Gone. I think it's got a great balance. It may be my favorite album yet, but I'm a little too biased right now to say that for sure LOL. I do know that when I tried to rank the songs in order of favorite for a thread on the AC forum yesterday, I had seven songs tied for first place originally LOL - that's half the album! And the other half is good, too; there's not a truly bad song in the bunch. The only potential skip song for me is "Try."

So?! Who else has the new album? Thoughts?? I'm absolutely in love with it! I think it's one of their best and will probably rank right up there with Millennium and Never Gone for me. I've been listening to it for like 7 hours straight LOL.
