Wow...I disappear for a day and I'm way behind here lol. For that first quiz I got: The Inland You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." Kinda validates what i was explaining earlier about Peoria lol. And here's the other one: What American accent do you have? (Best version so far) My Results: Northern You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for. I'm gonna try and catch up...and maybe try to do that recording...change things up a bit.

Laureen, you are so cute! LOL I didn't notice the accent that strong at all, except for on "bathroom." It's the short 'a' that I notice the most. It's more pronounced. Like at college, when people would talk about going to "clAss." It's way too hard to describe it in writing though LOL.

Yeah, you don't sound much different from anyone over here either... The only thing I noticed different (other than "bathroom") was when you said, "remote or buttons"... the transition from "or" to "buttons" was a little different. I dunno, lol. Cool though!
I think I know what you're saying Julie. The A was more... I dunno... the way I would describe it if we were talking about singing is that it sounds more narrow instead of opened up in the mouth, also, more spread/wide than tall.... if anyone knows what in jimany crickets I'm talking about, lol.

Wait! Hot dog sounds different!!! lol. To explain I'll exaggerate... a LOT, lol. If I exaggerate, it sounds like "hat dog" lol. "hot" has a little more of an A sound like "bath", but not too much, don't worry, lol. I just now noticed it and this is the third time I've listened to it, lol.
