Okie-doke, some of you may recognize this from AC. I was just curious as to what everyone's perception was of WHY certain ratings are what they are. (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17) So basically, why do you think a story would be rated R and not NC-17 for instance. (don't worry about G or PG, those are kind of lame because both are appropriate for almost all ages )

hmmm... i have always wondered that too... but i think mabe R means more with violence, and NC-17 probably means more with sexual stuff

I think of NC-17 as the next step up from R, especially in terms of sexual content. It's harder to differentiate between the ratings when it's a story, though, compared to a movie. The lines get blurred; it's hard to know where to draw the line between R and NC-17.

Yeah. I kind of agree with you about the violence and sex, Karina. It IS quite difficult to differenciate between them though, Julie, I agree.
lmao, I guess I could have just said that I agree with both of you.

^NC-17 is pretty much sex and that's it. That movie Show Girls was rated that, I know that has nothing to do with this, but I don't think there are many movies with that rating. More fan fic's LOL, mainly Nick one's too.

I dunno if I'd say mainy Nick ones. I'm sure it all depends on what site you're at... *taps Julie on the shoulder and whistles innocently* (no, not talking about Julie's site. I'm hoping she understands the code talk, lol)
