Tired of sitting at home feeling sorry for herself, Anita decided to go out. She hadn't been to any clubs for a while so why the hell not? There wasn't any harm in that. She truned the television off and went upstairs, putting on the sexiest outfit she could find. She loved the skirt she chose becasue it showed off her ass. She LOVED her butt, it wasn't too big, but just right. Most men loved big butts anyway and she was proud of showing it off. A lot of girls were jealous cause she was not only beautiful, but she had the butt to match. After doing her hair and taking a quick shower, thankfully the burns weren't too painful anymore, she hopped in her car and drove to the hottest spot in town.
After waiting what seemed like forever, she finally got to go in. Stupid celebrities, they shouldn't be able to break in front of anyone who'd been waiting forever. If the bouncer had noticed who she was sooner, she'd already be in and dancing. She didn't think he was ever going to quit apologizing to her. But she'd had her feel of celebs, she'd stick with just normal guys from now on.
She finally got seated at one of the most exclusive booths, and the waiter handed her her drink. The club was very loud and the lights flashing every where were giving her a headache, but she asumed that once she got a few drinks in, found a hot guy and started dancing, it would all be okay. She didn't have to wait long, guys were already approching her, and when she decided on one she'd like to dance with, they made thier way out to the crowded dance floor. One of her favorite songs came over the club and she and the guy began dancing up a storm. She was having blast until she looked up and spotted Nick, with chicks surrounding him. They made eye contact and she sallowed hard, pretending he wasn't there. So much for that, she seen him stand up, with one of the girls and make his way only a few feet away from her.
He pretened he didn't see her. Screw her, he thought. I've had it with those girls. I'm tired of being used, getting close to someone just never works for me, so I'm fed up on trying to find someone. There's plenty of girls out there willing to have fun with no relationship in their minds and that's what he'd stick to from now on.
Anita watched him as he dance and she barely heard the guy ask her if she wanted to take a break and get a drink. She agreed when she finally did hear him. He'd asked her if she wanted to go to his table and she nodded, and where his table was located they had to walk right past Nick. She took that as an opportunity to say something.
"You, know, Nick. That doesn't bother me, you dancing with other girls."
"Good," he snapped back,"I didn't intend for it too. I could care less what bother you, this is a club, and I'm here to dance just like everyone else." He seen the hurt flash in her eyes, and he suddenly felt quilty. The quilt quickly passed as he thought if what'd she'd done.
"So, you want something to drink?" the guy asked her when they were finally seated.
She couldn't hlep it when the tears pooled in her eyes, with a shaky breath, she politely told him, "No, thanks, I think I'm gonna walk outside, get some fresh air." the guy asked no questions as she stood up from the table and made her way outside to the chilly air of the massive parking lot. What the hell was wrong with him? She knew he wasn't like that, maybe a little agressive towards other men, but he wasn't mean. She just knew it, so what the hell could have happened that day to make him turn on her like that. What had she done, what had she said. These questions played over and over in her head as she walked to her car. The guy wouldn't miss her. She was angry at herself for letting this bother her so much, she had done nothing wrong, or at least she didn't think so. And what really pissed her off was that she'd let Nick in her heart. No matter the short time they'd known each other, she had already grown to like him a lot more than she wanted or intented to do.

The next morning Anita woke up and remembered what had happened the night before. She sighed and got up knowing only one thing at the moment would make her feel better.
Anita took a shower and headed to the gym. As she walked in she knew it was the right choice. Her break was over, Anita knew that she would no longer be staying away from the gym. It was time for her to start seriously training again with the Olympics less than two years away.
Anita began to warm up seeing her old coach nod and smile at her. Anita was a special Eliete and was allowed to warm up alone. As she ran laps on the mats she took in a deep breath and the scent of chalk, leather and sweat, She was back home.

The first thing she intented to do was take a long, warm soak in the tub. The shower just wouldn't do for today. She went upstairs and ran her bath water, purfuming the water to her liking. Finally she was able to slide down into the soothing water, letting the warmth overtake and relax her body. She couldn't get Nick or Apolo out of her head. What had happened it was just a dance. Nothing more. How could so many problems occur from one dance? She liked the way both men made her feel, and besides that first night Apolo had been nothing but nice to her. Plus in some way he shared the same kind of profession as she did. Still she couldn't get Nick out of her head. She just didn't understand the sudden outbursts he was throwing at her all the time, calling her a liar, everything. But one thing he had kept his word on was letting her talk to any guy besides Apolo...what did he have agaisnt him besides her? She had to admit his jealousy was nice, but this went far beyond her. For some reason she felt as if Apolo and Nick had had some run-ins before, just the way they both acted towards one another. Always trying to show each other out, if not with her in the middle, but with some other way.

*hey girl great job but lol i was at the gym not at home*
Anita shut her eyes feeling the hot water soak her sore muscles they hurt like hell but being back in the gym doing gymnastics again had made her feel awesome.
She winced at the blisters on her hands but knew it was well worth it. The Olympics were sooner than people realized but Anita knew she would be ready.
"First I better work off some of this pudge though" She sighed feeling her tummy.
Groaning at the thought of dieting again Anita sank under the water.

"Hello?" Anita wrapped the towel around her tightly as she ran to answer the phone.
"Woah, you alright?" her friend, and fellow gymnist, Karli asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just got out of the tub, trying to get the phone before you hung up."
"Oh, okay, I'm sure you've been training like crazy just like me. Why not go out tonight get a nice dinner, a healthy dinner, and do some shopping. We really haven't hung out much lately since the training ended a while back. What do you say?" Karli asked, out of all her teamates Anita got along with Karli the best. They had lots in common, and Karli had endured the same kind of hardships from guys as she had. They both also too thier job seriously, and to them it was more than a job, it was thier life. Most the other girl on thier team were out trying to get famous, make a name of themselves. Karli and Anita weren't exaclty aganist that happening, but gymnastics was in thier hearts. If they didn't get famous, it didn't bother them.
"Sure girl, I'd love to. It'd be nice to see you. Let me get dressed and I'll meet you....um where?"
"How about Mr. Chow? We haven't been there since we arrived in LA. What do you say?"
"Sounds good, I'll meet you there in say and hour.?"
"Yep, see you then," Karli said, and then Anita heard a dial tone.
*****At Mr. Chow****
"Anita!" Karli screeched, wrapping her friend in a warm, long waited embrace. "I've missed you girl."
"Me too!" Anita agreed, it really was good to see her. They both sat down as they waitied on the waiter.
"So, what have you been up too?" Karli asked, sipping the wine the waitress had brought over upon her arrival.
"Not much, really. Worked out today, my other days have been spent resting, and watching televeison."
"Oh me too, I never knew I'd love a couch an a televison that much." Karli laughed. "Did you go to that dance I think um a week ago?"
Anita groaned inwardly, she was trying really hard not to think about that. "I went, it was nice, had fun." Anita kept it simple, not going into any detail. Although she was thinking to herself. Yeah, met two guys, really like one of them, but he's being a total ass. Just as the other one was the first night that I have no feelings for besides friendship.
"Anita, you okay over there?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine," she assured her friend as she snapped her out of her daze. She wondered where Nick was right now. "So what about you?" Anita asked as the waiter handed them thier menus and apologized for the wait. They didn't mind, they seen how packed the resturant was.
"Not much, went down to Florida to see the rents for a couple days, other than that, nothing."
"Sounds, um....relaxing." Anita and Karli both laughed.
"I wanna hit a few clubs while I'm out here in L.A." Karli said, taking Anita bu surprise, Karli wasn't much of a partier. Karli giggled seeing her friend's shocked expression."I know, doesn't sound like me does it? I just wanna see what the whole hype is about."
"It's fun, I'll tell you that." Well, most of the time Anita thought, the other night wasn't so fun. She looked up and locked eyes with no other than Nick. What the hell was going on? Was he following her? Or was it just pure coincidence?

Nick felt his heart beat pick up seeing Anita. He had come to dinner with Brian for a quiet night out but when he looked up, he looked straight into Anita's eyes.
She looked pretty shocked to see him there and he smiled a bit. He sighed as she quickly looked away.
"What are you looking at Nick?" Brian asked turning around to see.
"Oh um just..." Nick trailed off unsure of how to describe her.
"Anita are you ok you look pale all of a sudden." Karli said frowning.
"Uh... I'm fine I just got really hot."
Karli nodded the place really was hot.
Anita looked up as a shadow fell over them. Nick was standing above her.

"Um, hey Anita, can I um...talk to you for a minute?" Nick asked, looking at Karli's shocked espression and then at Brain with a confused look on his face. "I mean if you don't want to that's fine an all....and I-"
"Nick, it's fine, I'll talk to ya. Even though I have no idea why."
Nick nodded,"Let's step outside, if that's okay with you. I mean it is kind of noisy in here." Anita nodded in approval and stood up and grabbed her purse.
"I'll be right back, Karli." Karli nodded, her eyes still wide with shock.
"Mind if I join ya?" Brain asked, looking down at Karil.
"Um...sure." she answered, still unsure of what was going on.
"So, have you any idea what's going on?"
"Nope," Karli answered, looking up to see Nick and Anita walk out the door.
"Me either," Brian replied. "I mean I noticed Nick had been acting strangely this morning when I went by his house, but that's Nick, he is strannngee." Brian laughed and Karli giggled.
"Yeah, Anita has been acting strangely too." Brian looked up to see the waiter carrying two plates of food, and he looked as confused as Brian had only moments before."It's okay sir, ny friend's coming back, just set her food down."
"Okay, and would you like anything, sir?" he asked, looking at Brian.
"Um, yeah, hand me a menu. You don't mind me sitting with you do ya? I mean out company just kinda left us hanging."
"No, not at all," Karil assured him, playing with her food.
"You alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, just a little bewlidered to be sitting with one of the most famous men in the world."
"Oh, don't be. I'm totally normal. Think of how I must feel, sitting with one of the best gymnist in the country."
Karli blushed."I had no idea you knew who I was."
"Well, Baylee loves you. He watching you every time you guys are on televison."
"Aww, that's your son, right."
"Yep." Brian said, his face lighting up. "So, I wonder what's going on out there?"
"I have no idea." Brian replied, thier gazes looking towards the door.
*****Outside*****
"What do you want, Nick?" Anita asked sharply and he winced, but he understoold her point.
"Just to apolozige, I guess. For the way I acted at the culb and your house."
"Yeah, what was that about? I mean I kinda walked my way into that at the club-"
"No, no." Nick cut her off. "I should have never talked to you like that."
"What is your problem?"
"I really liked you, Anita." Liked? She thought as her heart dropped at the word. Not LIKE, but Liked as in the past.
"I really like you too, Nick. I thought everything was going good."
"It was, until I found those CD's."
"Yeah, the CD's that belonged to my friend. I like you guys, but not THAT much.
Nick felt his whole body overcome with guilt and regretfulness. The damn CD's didn't even belong to her, and he freaked out before even getting the straight of things.
"You never answered my question, Nick. What was all that about?"
Nick sighed, running his hands through his hair, and sitting down a nearby bench, Anita remained standing.
"You just don't know what I've been through, Anita. I really start to like somone and then I find out that they just wanna be with me because they want something out of me. They don't wanna be with ME, but with the popstar, Nick. The famous, rich, Nick. The one that can get them recording contracts, buy them all kinds of expensive things. They wont ever take the time to get to know ME. I thought you were different, well, now I know you are. But I seen those album and I freaked. All kinds of things just kept going through my head, and I didn't listen to your side of the story. I just guess I've heard it so many times and I've trusted so many people, and listened to them, and what they said were all lies. I'm just so sick of being hurt, and I guess I tend to try not to get close to people. But with you that was kind of impossible." Nick finished and looked up at Anita's shocked expression.

I'll write again, I guess..lol.
"Nick, I had no idea, but still, do you know how unfair that is? You didn't even give me a chance to explain myself. I can't be in a relationship like that, not again. You're so agressive."
"I am not!" Nick defended, standing, noticing the sudden rise in his voice, he lowered it."I just proved your point, didn't I?" he sighed, running his had through his hair again. Anita noticed that was a habit of his when he was thinking or upset. "But, really, I'm not. Just cautious, I guess. I'm not trying to make your situation seem like nothing, but you haven't been through near what I have. I mean, not that....shit I don't know. What that guy did to you, whatever he did was awful...but..." he trailed off, not sure of what else to say. He'd already put his foot in his mouth enough with her.
"I understand, sweetie. But YOU have got to understand, that I'm not like that. Nick, I like you for you. Hell, I barely even knew who you were that night. I had to figure it out. You're sweet, funny, charming. I could care less about your fame or fourtune. I have my own job, and I love it. I don't want to sing, act maybe, but I'll do it on my own terms. Not at your expense. I can also understand you jumping the gun in some way, but still, you should have told me what was going on from the get go. Not be a total ass about everything. From here on out we need to be completely honest with each other, okay?" Anita asked, and kind of stated at the same time. She saw the biggest simle spread across that beautiful face.
"You're giving me another chance?" he all but jumped up and down.
"Yeah, I guess I am, but one more thing."
"Oh, no."
"No, what's up between you and Apolo? I feel that problem goes far beyond me."
"No, it doesn't. I didn't even know that guy exsisted until that night. I saw you first, and you came up to me first. He didn't do anything but get in the way and complicate things. I don't care if you're friends with him, baby, but could you wait just a little bit, please? Until we see how it's going to work out with us?"
"Of course, sweetie." Anita reassured him.
"Thank God, and I promise from here on out, everything is going to be completely different. I'll be the guy you started to like. Not some hot headed jealous son of a bitch, I promise."
"Okay, but the jealousy thing is okay to a point, I like it." she smirked.
"Really?" he half smiled, she nodded.
"I guess we'd better get back in there and explain to Karli and Brian what the hell is going on." Anita said, and Nick grabbed her hand, leading her back into the crowded resturant.

Karli and Brian were in deep conversation.
"I'm telling you Karli, being a singer is SO much harder than being a gymnast! I mean all you really have to do is wear leotards and smile pretty for the judges, however being a singer we have to perform ALL the time. We have to have awesome voices, look good, dance under hot lights and the list goes on!" Brian proclaimed.
Karli's eyes widdened and her jaw dropped.
"ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS SMILE AND LOOK PRETTY! CAN YOU FLIP 5 FEET IN THE AIR AND LAND ON A FOUR INCH BEAM? CAN YOU FLY BETWEEN TWO BARS WITH BLISTERS ON YOUR HANDS BLEEDING?"
Brian squirmed going a bit red.
"Can you dance and flip across a mat smiling when your ankle is wrapped up swollen from a sprain? Can you throw yourself at top speed off a table flipping and landing with fractures in your back?" Anita asked coming behind them.
Brian and Nick looked at each other. Brian gave a meek smile.
'And most important, we don't get on a wheeties box" Nick added with a small smile.
There was a pause of silence then Anita and Karli began to laugh.
"Sorry we are intense about our sport." Anita said sitting down.
"We feel the same about our music." Nick said pulling a chair up.
He reached over squeezing Anita's hand. She smiled at him leaving Karli and Brian wondering.

"I bet you guys are. You all are amazing singers," karli stated, "but I have to admit, I was kinda bumed about Kevin leaving."
"We all were, girl." Nick stated, looking at Brian as he nodded his head in apporval. Deciding not to ask any questions until he and Nick left the resturant.
"I mean, is it weird him not being there anymore?" Anita asked, taking a bite of her food, she was so hungry. Nick and Brian were glad at the arrival of thier own food.
"Of course it is," Nick said, lookng at Anita.
"I mean, Kevin was the one who kept us all in line. We will be in the studio and start goofing off and we will all look around for Kevin to tell us to stop and get down to busniss." Brian said, a sad, but nologastic look in his blue eyes.
"What's really gonna suck is when we go to preform and he's not there, that's when reality really is gonna sit in." Nick stated, tears welling in his eyes.
"AWW, Nick, don't cry." Karli said, grabbing his hand. "I know Anita and I can't exactly understad what you're going through, but a coach we had for like 5 years retired this year. He was our everything, our backbone. It sucks him not being there anymore. So we can relate in some way, I guess."
"Damn you Karli, I was trying not to think about that." Anita said, sipping her dink. "So Bri, she said looking at him. I understand you're this HUGE Christian and that's awesome. But what do you say we go to a club tonight after we eat. Just dance, no drinking?"
"Sounds awesome," Brian said rasing his glass and Nick's eyes grew wide. It took everything in Brian to keep from spitting out his drink in amusment.

After they all finished eating they quickly went to get ready for the club.
"Girl I am so excited!" Karli said bouncing around her room.
Anita laughed.
"Girl you have got to chill out!" Anita said putting on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a black halter and black stilettos.
"But they are so cute!" Karli whinned slipping into a white sleeveless dress and silver shoes.
Anita paused with a bit of a dreamy smile.
"Yeah that they are."
Both girls dissolved into helpless giggles like hopeless 12 year olds.

"Nick, you've looked at your watch a million times in the last five minutes, you know how girls are. It takes them forever to get ready."
"I know, I know, but-"
"I know, I want to see Karli just as much as you want to see Anita."
"You do?" asked Nick with wide eyes, Brian was sure surprising him tonight.
"Well, yeah, she's a nice girl." Brian saidm brushing him off.
"Bri," Nick said and paused, not sure how to get his words right."I know you love Leigh, but sometimes do you wish you would have dated more? I mean you got married so young." Nick tralied off, Brian marrige was always a touch subject for them.
"Of course I do. I mean I think about it from time to time. I love my son, and I love my wife, but sometimes I think what if."
"Wow...do you feel bad about wanting to hang out with Karli tonight?"
"Not bad, as nuch as qulity. I really enjoy her company." Brian said and sighed.
"You shouldn't feel gulity, you're just hanging out."
"Speaking of hanging out, I'm enjoyig this, I've missed hanging out with you, Nick."
"Me too, Bri, you have no idea." Nick said, looking at his watch yet again.

"Hurry up Karli they are waiting for us!" Anita giggled walking fast.
"I'm trying I'm trying, hold your horses." Karli laughed picking up her pace.
Anita got her hand tugging her. They knocked on the door.
"Here we are!" Anita exclaimed laughing at the guys expressions seeing them
"Anything wrong guys?" Karli asked playfully.
"N, no" Brian stammered/
Anita grinned.
"Good, let's go party."
