We haven't talked about fanfic as much lately, so I thought I'd start a new thread.
Writers: what are you working on these days? Here's a chance for you to update us on your current writing projects, fanfic or otherwise.
If you're not a writer but a fanfic reader, what are you reading these days?

I spent the first half of the summer trying to start a new novel to take the place of BMS in my life. All I have to show for it is an incomplete outline, a lot of notes, and about a chapter of the story ("The Distance Between Lives"). I love the idea of this story and hope to write it someday, but now does not seem to be the time.
Then I turned back to Broken and decided that if I couldn't get into a new project, I would keep going with my plan to novelize Broken instead. That didn't really lead to much productivity either because I came back to the conclusion I'd made before: that I really need to take a break from the Broken series and move on to something else before coming back to it. Again, I still want to write the novel, but I think I need to do another fanfic project that is completely different from Broken/BMS first.
So, the last half of the summer has been spent on collaborations. "00Carter" is my baby now; I've been more into it than ever and helping Rose push to get parts written for it so we can update it. I've also started a new collaboration with just Rose and Dee which we're really excited about. It's something very different from my usual stuff, which has been fun for me, and I can't wait till we're far enough into it to be able to put it online. With as fast as we've been planning and writing it so far, I'm thinking this could be within the next couple of weeks.
For right now, I want to make this my only new project, put all my other new ideas on hold, and just concentrate on this new one and my older collaborations and other stories, namely 00Carter and Code Blue, if we could ever finish the episode we're on. I know I will get going on another individual novel when the time is right, but since the new school year will be starting in less than a month, that time is not now.
So that's where I stand.

As for reading, I've been really into suspense and more supernatural stuff lately. Some stories I've been reading on AbsoluteChaos are Fan Friction, How to Save a Life, and Hawk and a Handsaw, but none of them get updated very often, so that is sad. I wanted to reread Between the Lines this summer too, but that hasn't really happened yet. I've actually spent a lot more time reading "real" books than fanfic this summer.

Well, in the past month, I've been working on my fanfic which you guys got a sneak peek of awhile back. I've gotten a few more parts to it, but overall I'm a little stuck.
I've also been reading "Life According to Baylee" by alota_cookin.

My baby this summer has been 00Carter. We had to basically revamp and entire episode and have been writing it since. Also been making games for it cause Julie is awesome like that lol. Also I've been working a lot on my story "Born To Be" which is the least reviewed of my recent stories on absolutechaos, but I love it the most. It's been awhile since I've done a true to the bone fantasy and I'm still keeping the boys as BSB which is rare for me. Whatever it is, I love it. Though the past two weeks have been with the new collaboration Julie mentioned. Me, her and Dee have been really excited about it and I've been writing like mad for it. So I really hope I can post it soon. As for stories I've been reading, "Hawk and a Handsaw", "Fan Friction", "How To Save a Life", my list is similar to Julie's lol. Also, Mare's new story "A Million Little Things". Except for Mare's story, none are updated as often as I'd like. Which is sadness

LOL Rose, I forgot to mention how much of my "writing time" was spent making games, playing games, or on Windows Movie Maker this summer.

Well I've majorly been working on 00Carter, not as effectively as I intend to work but still, I think it's better than nothing. I have a couple of story ideas in my head as well, but I need to start somewhere. The worst thing with me is I've been suffering from severe headaches for a couple of weeks now and staring at a computer screen after I come home from work is almost like a torture, even though my life revolves around my laptop. I haven't read any fan fiction in the longest time, the latest one I've been reading was "the house on the byrne shore", which was on our reading club. But the link doesn't work anymore so I want to start from the scratch. Just like Julie, I've been reading a lot of real books instead of fan fiction. I guess that's it.

I haven't read any fan fiction in the longest time, the latest one I've been reading was I know what you mean... not about the headaches specifically, but I feel the same way after work. I look forward to coming home and checking my mail and the forums and all that good stuff, but beyond that, I usually don't feel like chatting, reading, let alone writing. I'm just always so drained that all I want to do is watch TV because it requires the least amount of thought LOL. I'm weird because my favorite time to write is in the middle of the night... yet if I am physically tired, I just can't do it.

I've been reading nothing but real books lately. LOL I have been all about the real books lately too LOL. I think I said that already. I've been reading all summer, and I've only finished a few books, but they were all really long ones, so I feel accomplished about that. I just love that feeling of getting into a book and not being able to put it down. Looking forward to it when I first wake up in the morning and having to tear myself away from it to go to bed at night. I'm doing that now with Deathly Hallows, even though this is at least the third time I've read it LOL. That's what I love about Harry Potter; it never gets old. Those books excite me every time, even when I know what's coming LOL.

Yes! I just finished one called The Dancehall...about murder, supense and romance all in one. It kept you guessing until the very end and I love books like that. Then I finished one called Family Blessings, and The Fullfillment. Now this one I'm reading, Until the End of Time....I just can't get into it. It's stupid so far.
