I know, another fan fic thread, but that's what this board is for, and I miss talking about stories and writing. So anyway. What is easiest for you? Writing fan fic or writing about something you've been through? I enjoy both, but I find that I get more inspiration and my stories come out better if they are an original story.
I don't know why, but I can write and write those and always have some ideas, with fan fic, I can not touch it for 2 weeks because I can't find anything I can write and when I do I usually wind up hating it.

Well, I started a nonfiction novel awhile back. And that was a lot easier to write than fan fics for me, personally. I haven't touched it in forever though. Partially because I haven't had much time, and also because when I DO have time, I never remember it.

I don't really write about things I've been through... maybe because I haven't been through much that I find interesting enough to write about (which is probably a good thing, considering my favorite genre is drama/angst - I'm glad I don't have a lot of angst in my life! LOL). But I find that when I do add in something personal that I can really relate to, the writing comes easily.
I love writing fanfic and tend to write about things I have not experienced just because my ideas are so epic compared to my boring life LOL. I spend more time researching and getting ready to write that way, but I don't mind... I think it makes for a more interesting story.

LOL! I know with fan fic you can take it to the extreme if you want, that's always fun. But with me, I write better original stories. Don't know why, but I do.
