Yep! Hoping for a snow day tomorrow, but we never get as much as predicted, so I'm not counting on it. lol i wish i could have a snow day!!!! not fair. I didn't even know it was supposed to snow. I knew it was gonna be cold but I never heard anything about snow. It was a surprise to me. and i hate snow so .. grr. I need to move lol so i have to ask lol.. most of my teachers always gave the impression that snow days were like a last resort and they never wanted to have them blah blah blah. Personally, I never believed it. I think it's all BS and they want the day off just as bad as the students. Am I right? lol

We DO have a snow day! It's our first one this year. Whoo hoo!!!
And you are totally right about the teachers LOL. Teachers love snow days as much as the kids! Well, most of us, anyway. I guess there are a few who gripe because their plans get off a day, and then we have to make it up at the end of the year, but psh... I don't mind going one extra day in May/June just to have that lovely surprise day off in the winter. I LOVE snow days.

My district, every year, builds in an extra week of school for emergiency closing and most of the time it's never used, which means we always got stuck going to school an extra week. BULL!!! I hate school lol

^ That sucks!! The districts around here allow for 5 snow days, and if we don't use them all, we get out that many days earlier.
Jeez, be careful in the snow... it's fun until you wreck your car or hurt yourself.

You know you've been writing BMS too long when...
1. You automatically start typing a BMS character's name when you're trying to type a different name.
I opened up Word in a flash of inspiration for the short story I've been wanting to write since about last October, and I was trying to type the name James, and it ended up "Jamies" because my fingers were so set on typing "Jamie" instead LOL.
And when I was writing that Post-Epilogue of BMS, I swear, EVERY TIME I tried to type "Cait," I ended up with "Claire" instead and had to backtrack LOL.

Like I said earlier, everything seems to remind me of your story. when i was drving to work this morning.. snowy streets lol.. yea... i was like gee i hope i dont crash like nick did. nice thoughts at 3:30 in the morning lmao

I know I've read 200 on at least five times since it's been posted. I get the same feeling every time.

What happens if you need more than 5 days? And how do people find out that it's a snow day, and they don't have to go to school? Then we have to add that many more days of school onto the end of the year. All of the local news stations have school closings (and other closings - businesses and events) running across the bottom of the TV screen, and they also post them on their websites so you can check. The radio stations also announce them. But for school personnel, they have a phone tree set up so that you will get a call letting you know. My mom is also a teacher, and she runs her school district's website, so she is one of the first to get called for her district so that she can update the school website with the news. I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning when the phone rang - the secretary from her school calling to let HER know it was a snow day. So I jumped out of bed and ran to my computer to get on one of the news websites to check - sure enough, everywhere was cancelled. Five minutes later, I got the call from one of the teachers at my school, and then I had to call another person from my school to make sure she knew. It's pretty efficient.

I was like, god, I will be so pissed if karma strikes and I crash my car after writing that part. What's funny is, I put my car into the ditch for the first time ever about a year ago, and as I was sitting there in my snow-covered car in the ditch, I was like, well... if there's one good thing about this experience, besides the fact that I'm not hurt and my car is okay, it's that I now know what it feels like to lose control of a car in the ice and snow, and that will help me write that part in BMS. LOL

LOL Talk about finding the positive side in life!!! geesh.. hmm.. you might be taking this writing fanfic business too far lmao!!!! but i can definitely see your point on the karma thing and being a little freaked out. that basically happened to me lol. I switched insurance from geico to state farm, it was like half as much. i was happy. even better, two weeks after i got a refund check for qualifying for this safe drivers reward so i got like $80 back. the next day my front bumper was hanging off. and even worse is the only reason i left that day was cause i thought my dog had a tick so i took him to the vet and since he was so good i stopped at MY dominicks to buy him doggy ice cream and as i was pulling out.. boom. i need a new job lol

I was also listening to "Siberia" when I spun my car into the ditch (in the middle of a snowstorm). It was pretty hilarious. I try to avoid that song when it's snowing now LOL.
