My boyfriend and I are trying to eat healthier. He needs to lose weight. We've kind of gotten stuck on meal ideas. I'm mainly thinking about dinner, but it wouldn't hurt to have more variety for breakfast and lunch as well.
We typically eat: Grilled chicken, brown rice, veggies. Grilled steak, baked potato (with just butter), veggies. Whole wheat spaghetti, with lean hamburger and spaghetti sauce. Beef/veggie stew. Polska (polish) sausage and potatoes (not the best meal because we fry them)
We're trying to focus on ideas for the main course, and ideas for the side. Something other than rice or potatoes. Any ideas? What do you usually eat?

I'm allergic to dairy, so unfortunately a lot of those won't work for the both of us, but some awesome ideas! And I absolutely LOVE the frozen banana ice cream idea!! We will have to give that a try for sure. Right now the only "dessert" my boyfriend is having are plain fruit popsicles.
Thanks for the ideas, Julie!

All hail the crack pot! That's pretty much all I use to cook nowadays lol I make meals on the weekends, freeze them, pull one out the night before to thaw in the fridge and pop them into the crock pot in the morning so dinner is ready when I get home, and it makes the house smell so yummy!

Maybe we should get a crock pot... Most of our meals are just basic meat, veggies, and starch. But it would be nice to have a crock pot sometimes.

FYI the honey garlic chicken (http://www.mommysfabulousfinds.com/2013/06/crock-pot-honey-garlic-chicken.html) is SO good, we eat that at least once a week.

I've always loved the Chicken Crisp Burritos from Taco Time, but they have a ton of dairy in them and I'm allergic to dairy. My boyfriend used to work at Taco Time and he totally made me some using dairy-free substitutes! And they were delicious. Not healthy for him, but VERY healthy for me since they don't have dairy!
