I love this interesting turn you took! And just like Mare said, I had figured she was Amish based off the dialogue you had for her. It was like I could seriously hear her talking as I read her dialogue, so that was really cool. And just thought I'd let you know, that you had me craving soup and bread last night when I read your update. With the way you described how fresh vegetables and ingredients were used to make the soup and bread, you seriously had my mouth watering for just that... some good ole fashioned home made soup and bread! Lol.
I'm just still blown away with how original this character is, I freaking love it! And with the way you continue to describe the characters and the setting... it paints such a vivid picture in my head. But man, I wondered who he called. Can't wait for the next update my dear! ;D

Aww, thanks guys! That is awesome to hear! I figured you at least, Mare, might know more about the Amish firsthand, though I don't know where you live in relation to "Amish country" in PA. I know there are Amish in IL, but not anywhere near where I live, so I've never seen that culture firsthand. I do have a trilogy of books with Amish characters that I've been rereading since starting this story, and I've done a lot of research online, but as far as writing the dialogue, I had to base that solely on other works of fiction, so I'm glad it still sounded realistic! Thanks so much to both of you; I'm glad you're still enjoying it, even though this chapter was not so action-packed or suspenseful LOL. Your feedback means a lot!

I live about 45 minutes away from the Amish so, sometimes i'll see them around. It's always surreal when you see them in things like cabs, grocery stores or my personal favorite, on line for a bus! LOL It's like you want to say uh...did you read your own rule book?
Jody Picoult wrote a great book based in Amish country. A murder mystery called Plain Truth. I highly recommend it!

I wouldn't mind reading that book too, I've read a couple of Jodi's books and enjoyed them. I don't really know much about Amish people. There was a documentary on TV a while back which I watched and I found them fascinating. It's hard to believe that in such a modern country, such communities exist! Interesting indeed and I can't wait for more

I've been thru Intercourse, PA (gotta love that name, right down the road is Blue Ball..lmao!) and its Amish country. Seeing ppl in horse and buggies, the way they dress...its all just so foreign to me.
BTW, one of my fav movies is For Richer, For Poorer...lmao!! Tim Allen and Kirsti Alley... GREAT movie!

LMAO I read about Intercourse and Blue Ball!! I totally wanted to set this in Intercourse, but I'm sooo anal, I needed somewhere closer to Philly, and also near water, so the part with the creek could happen, so Paradise was a better fit. I laughed at that name too, cause ya know... Amish Paradise? LOL

I picked up "Plain Truth" on Saturday, started reading it yesterday. I like it so far. It takes place in the same town I picked for mine, Paradise! That was lucky LOL.
I also got "Change of Heart" because I found the hardback in the bargain books section at Borders for $7. After paying freaking $17 for a paperback copy of the other one, I figured I might as well take advantage! So I'll read that one next. Maybe it'll give me some inspiration for Secrets of the Heart.

Change of Heart is an amazing book, I loved it from start to finish. Will have to see if I can find that other one.
