This is HUGE news! ;D
I've been following this election and I have to say that I'm really happy that Obama won. I really think he'll change things around.
What dos everyone think of this??

YAY!!
Last night was so awesome! I have never been very interested in politics, but I was excited to vote after school yesterday, and I watched the coverage all night and stayed up through Obama's speech. It literally made me teary-eyed. I am so relieved and excited that he won! Everything about this election feels different. He could be the first truly great president of our lifetime.

We did the whole mock election thing in my class yesterday, and Obama totally trumped McCain in my class and school-wide. I've heard that school elections are usually pretty accurate because they represent who the kids' parents are voting for. What's funny is, the county where I teach went for McCain LOL. We looked at the state results today, and the kids were like, "What?! No!" They were all about Obama.

I actually have no opinion, because I chose not to pay any attention to any politics this year, lol. I'll pay attention in four years though, because that's when I can vote. I just decided it was too much energy and whatnot to pay attention right now.

I am neither "YAY" nor "ugh" just like 'uh, he could be ok, if he doesn't take all his extreme abortion policies really far'.

He won't affect abortion in any way. Abortion is already legal here, and Obama supports states restricting late-term abortions. His views aren't at all extreme; he's just pro-choice, as pretty much all Democrats are. I am definitely pro-life, personally, but since Bush was also pro-life and didn't try to make abortion illegal during his eight years, it wasn't a big enough issue to swing my vote. They would have to overturn a major court decision to make it illegal here.

Yeah, I realize it's already legal, but I've heard he supports late-term abortion and even worse stuff. But if he really can't do much about it, that's reassuring. P.S. Yeah, well, I don't think Bush was a very good president in many ways, so it's not like I ever expected him to do much about abortion either.

He doesn't support late-term abortion. He supports the states being able to ban late-term abortions. But yeah, even if his views were more extreme, there's not much he could do if he wants to keep the peace with the conservatives. Much like how the pro-lifers haven't yet been able to overturn Roe v. Wade.
