I didn't realize how much I hero-worshipped Lurlene McDaniel until tonight, when I went to her site and discovered she has a YouTube page and a MySpace and a Facebook, and I went all over and looked at her MySpace and watched all her YouTube videos and squeed over all the things we have in common and how much I love her books and how much I want to be like her LMAO. It was a very exciting time. If there are other loyal Lurlene fans here (I think Anita is... others??), you should check out her videos; they're interesting. www.youtube.com/user/LurleneMc

I LOVE HER BOOKS! I've read all of them, but Don't Die My Love is my favorite. I've read that book over 10 times I know. When I first read it, I was 13, and I imagined it being a movie and Nick was Luke. LOL She is such an amazing writer and her stories don't all have happy endings, I love that.
I'm going to check that page out! You see that movie that was based on her book? I really didn't like it much, I prefer the book.

She knows! All the ones she's named are my favorite, and I'd love to have another book in the Angel Trilogy, even though she says it's not going to happen.

And it's so true... I read her first Dawn Rochelle book in fifth grade, so those were my favorites for awhile... and then I read Don't Die, My Love in sixth grade, and that's been my all-time favorite ever since. I'd still put it above any Nicholas Sparks book I've read LOL. I also liked the One Last Wish books, especially the ones about the Jenny House girls. The one about Jenny herself is another one of my favorites.

I cried like a baby every time I read that book, but the ending is so great. The tulips... Yep, I taped that movie off TV once. It's sooo cheesy LOL, definitely not as good as the book. But I think I still cried at the end of that too.

Actually I'd read Don't Die My Love before I read Cover Me With Dreams, so I thought you got the idea for Broken from DDMY.

It was actually from Swollen Issues, but you can totally see the Lurlene McDaniel influence in my writing. Especially with a lot of my older stories, but with Broken too, for sure.

I actually like the second one a lot better than the first one. You could really just start there. He doesn't find out he has cancer until that one LOL. The first one, he thinks it's just the mumps. The first one is almost more of a comedy, even though you feel bad for poor Nick.

Yeah, I started reading this first one...I just didn't like it. I guess I could read the second one.

She actually has a new one that came out in Feb. called "Prey"... it's about a teacher who has sex with her student! LOL! Not typical Lurlene stuff. I might have to check it out though.

Well I remembered that you guys used to talk about her a lot, so once I saw a book that she had written and I read that. I'm pretty sure it was "Don't die my love". It's wasn't too bad. But I wouldn't put it over any Nicholas Sparks book, that's for sure.
