Don't come to Seattle for cool summers! LOL! It can get up to 100 degrees! lol. I all depends when you're here though, hehe.
As far as rain goes... how much rain we talkin'? (LOL!)
East of the Pacific Ocean and just west of the Olympic Moutains it rains quite a bit.
Then, there's a little rain shadow (area that gets less rain because the clouds ran out, lol) just east of the Olympics.
Then the clouds pick up more water from the Puget Sound and it rains quite a bit in Seattle. But then it rains more just before the Cascade Mountains because when the clouds are trying to go over the mountains, the mountains force a TON of rain out. So, just before the Cascades is where you'd get the most rain.
Then, east of the Cascades, there's a GINORMOUS rain shadow!!!
But the clouds pick up water from the rivers along the way (does the Columbia River ring any bells?). So, when the clouds finally get to the Rocky Mountains, there's more rain there.
Didn't think you'd get a lesson on rain here, did ya? LOL!

LOL! lemme guess... somewhere between 65 and 80 degrees? lol. 80 is actually hot here, lol. 65 is typical. I actually like it when it's mild here. Which is usually NOT very often. During the summer months it rages from anyway to 90 to over one hundred degrees. So when we get 80 degree weather, we think we're in heaven.

BUT! The winters are usally freezing, that's odd, isn't it. Especailly this past winter. It may not be freezing to any of you, but compared to the way it usually is here, yeah it was. lol. The last time we got snow was in 2002. The biggest snow is when we had the blizzard in 93'. Other than that, if I've ever seen snow, it's been some where off. That was odd...even for me.

IL's the same way; it gets up to 100 in the summer. Doesn't rain as much though, which is why I would prefer Seattle.
Do you get a lot of snow in the winter, Amy? I love snow.

IT NEVER rains here..well it does rain, but one in a blue moon. Then it rains so much you're up to your ankles in water. The climate here...it has a mind of it's own.

Hehehe, Kristy, you DEFINATELY would HATE it here in the winter! It can get down to 10 degrees! LOL! (I hate it, lol). Imagin me standing outside when it's 20degrees, waiting for the school bus! lol. Cold!
And yes Julie, we get snow! It's fun, but it's cold! Yuck! LOL! But I don't have any good grassy hills on my property, so we always go to my brother's friend's house to sled. (which is where my brother broke his arm, lol). But yeah, we don't usually get a whole lot of it, just enough to miss school, but it's usually maybe 3 inches. Last winter, we got 6in. I think.

^10 DEGREES! I'll pass on that, thank you very much. I would die. I LOVE cold weather, especially if we get it here, but I don't think I could handle that.

LOL it gets below zero here sometimes. Not usually though; usually it's more 20s and 30s in the winter.

Funny, my husband and I quote that line all the time when the kids are fighting over something. Where are you in Illinois? My sister moved there in January. Her husband is in the Navy and they are stationed at the Great Lakes Base. I might go up and visit her this summer. jenn I'm about 3 hours south of Chicago, central IL area. I'm assuming the Great Lakes Base is near Lake Michigan? I believe so. It's northeast of Chicago. It takes her an hour to get to the airport.

I wish we had more time to go to the Orca Islands and Mt. Ranier when I was there. On a side note-I did go to the town where the filmed the movie Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. jenn
