Hey Julie,
What's the status on this issue? Cause I know someone sent hard copies of the story as evidence to whoever is in charge of Refresh, but have you heard anything? Have they done anything?

The Refresh situation has pretty much been taken care of. They removed the threads with all the stories from AbsoluteChaos... which was MOST of the plagiarized works, but not all. The ones whose authors have disappeared are still there because no one could get permission from the authors to include their works in the official complaint we sent. So we're reasonably satisfied.
Now we just have to be on the lookout for Tanja to pop up somewhere else. I've Googled her a few times, but haven't found anything new.

Well, I'm really glad to hear that. I'm so glad that got taken care of and that FINALLY those people who are in charge of Refresh did something..... *mutters about the half a brain they collectively own*
If anything pops up, keep us informed!

Oh, you know I will! Speaking of which, Juliane, what's the deal with that chick copying you? We're here to fight for you if you give us some info!

I don't see the point in plagiarism, I think it's one of the stupidest things people can do. Not only because it's wrong, but ninety percent of the time you're going to get caught at it anyway. I've seen some other people's stories and think that's a good idea, I'd like to wrtie a story similar to that, but with my own views and characters. But I can't even do that, makes me feel bad even thinking of it. So I try to come up with my own story plots and ideas.

Yeah, totally. It's one thing to be inspired by another person's story, to have one person's idea spark an idea of your own that may be similar, but different once you put your own spin on it. I get inspired that way all the time. To outright copy an idea is different... that's not cool. But to actually take someone's story and post it word for word as your own is just unforgivable.

I know, it's ridiclious really. Like you said using someone else's story for inspration, fine. But do not go an just copy it. It just makes you look so dumb. Like you're not smart enough to create your own ideas.

^ Exactly!!! Which is just silly anyway because, come on, everyone has some form of creativity. Everyone has an imagination. Just some people have wilder, more vivid imaginations than others. But if you're so un-creative that you have to copy, you shouldn't be a fiction writer LOL. Not that anyone who plagiarizes is a "writer" anyway.

I know. I think it would be bad if someone didn't have an imagination, it's an escape in some way, in my opinion anyway. Helps you relax.
