Thanks for all the suggestions. I read through this thread again when I was writing the post-epilogue, and I think I covered as much of this as I could without making it too random.

i know im probably late with this lol, but the two that kinda stuck out in my mind the most were the jag. he sold it and then.. and the whole trip to france. she ran out on nick, her dad ends up having bypass surgery (know all about that one too. my dad had it in may lol), and then a few months later their dating again without really ever talking about it. those are the two big ones that sort of bug me cause i dont know how it all played out. but since im all slow about it lol...

Aww, the Jag LOL. Yeah, totally didn't think about that one. But then, I don't know what I'd really do with that... have him try and buy it back?? He could just buy another Jag... a newer one... since we can assume this one's at least 7 years old (not that that's old, but in celebrity terms...). I didn't get the Jag back in there...
And the France thing... ugh. They really didn't ever talk about that, did they? LOL Whoops... LOL I wrote this paragraph in 193...
"And yet, when were they ever going to talk about it? She’d danced right around the issue in that email and every message after it, as if she were trying to pretend the whole thing had never happened. Nick played along, but it was hard not to just come out and ask her. What were you doing there, Claire? What did you come to say to me?"
... and then I never did have them talk about it. But then they ended up having sex in the pool, so I guess that was kind of like talking? LMAO not really, but it proved she still had feelings for him, right? That's really what he was wondering... And then she proposed to him.
(Actually, I wish you had posted this earlier, cause I didn't realize I had never actually had them talk about it, and I could have tried to squeeze that into one of these chapters. As it is, I have no idea where I would do that now...)

I think the only thing about the jag that makes me wonder is 1)that the whole purpose of him selling it was to move on and get over claire and 2).. does she even know he sold it yet? lol

Ahh, so we have Jen to blame, eh? Ugh... there is SO much of this loose end stuff crammed into Chapter 200, which is the last real chapter before the epilogue ending stuff. Just assume they did talk about it in the time the story skipped over LOL. And she would know he sold the Jag because there was about a month glossed over at the beginning of 195 where they were seeing each other... you can assume she would have found out then, if she didn't know before. LOL I knew this thread was a good idea; I knew there would be stuff you guys would remember that I didnt' LOL. I thought I was doing pretty good at either getting stuff back in or consciously deciding not to, but you definitely got me on two things!

Speaking of all that old stuff... I flipped through my Broken notebook over the weekend while I was writing the last chapter, just to see if it sparked any last-minute ideas for stuff I should mention again, and wow, that was funny. I've always had it in my head that, for the most part, I planned out the major events of both of these stories and stuck to them the entire way though... but I had apparantly forgotten about all the dumb ideas I thought of and considered along the way and then didn't use LOL. And pretty much nothing in the last five chapters or so, which seem like they've been in my head FOREVER, were included in the first outline of BMS I wrote out in that notebook when I was first trying to plan it out.

I thought I was doing pretty good at either getting stuff back in or consciously deciding not to, but you definitely got me on two things! yessssssss i rock. i paid attention while i was reading your story!! honestly, that's a compliment cause my attention span is like a fraction of a second. i dont find it funny (ok maybe i do) but whenever i mention my inability to pay attention jen always goes "ok nick". like whatever, it's a drummer thing lol ok i can see you missing the jag, but france was kind of big? lol... that's why i dont post anything i write before it's finished lol cause im always afraid they'll be gaps and even though you can go back and fix them, then it kinda messes with the readers lol but at the same time, not posting it as i write is probably why i never finish anything. no motivation. catch 22 i guess. so i have an idea, but im not sure exactly how this would work. i dont know if you ever read it, but there's this story called bed of roses, and the author wrote a sequel to it but she did it in the form of a play and it's really short. im not saying write a play or a part three thats 400 chapters, but maybe you could write a part three in the future in short story format, have it be down the road like ten years so we can see where they're at, and perhaps include a conversation where some of the loose ends come up and finally get resolved. you know like they can be talking and all of a sudden remember it and then that sort of forces them to talk about it and explain themselves. or you can just add it as another epliogue lol (the never ending story....)

I've read part of Bed of Roses, but never finished it... I dunno why LOL. Maybe I can include a part like that in Footprints, if I ever get that far in it... right now I'm still trying to write the important parts of that in order, and I haven't even gotten Nick into it yet LOL. (Cause I'm stuck on Jamie shit that I don't want to write, but need to wrap up.) As far as down the road... just wait.

I think you don't need to add up any other stuff, maybe in the future in a part of Foot Prints but in relationships some things left as they are and never mentioned again. You just don't talk about it because digging it deeper won't do any good to anyone. After all, I think Claire's pretty smart to understand why Nick sold the Jag and it was pretty obvious after the night they had in the pool why Claire showed up at his door in France. But then again, this is my humble opinion.

Ugh...things unresolved and not talked about but they're still there between a couple like the invisible elephant in the room. Story of my friggin' (half non-existent) love life. I think I'll stick to reading about Nick and Claire's unresolved problems, life is much easier that way.

I think that's what I was thinking with the whole pool scene... they didn't necessarily need to spell it out for each other; it was just understood then that, yes, she still had feelings for him. Maybe he'll never know that she did go back to look for him at the hotel but was too late, or that she planned on following him to Germany, or maybe they did talk about it but it just wasn't covered in the story.

But, my whole point with the jag is that at no point in the story does she ever find out he actually sold it lol unless she raided his garage or something lol. but i suppose it's not significant enough to make a big deal out of.

In no point that's written about... But what I was thinking was, in that month that they had started dating again, that I kinda skipped over in a few paragraphs, she surely would have found out. He usually drove that car when they were going places together, so she would wonder what happened to it. I just didn't think to write a part with her actually finding out.
