Writers block sucks! I have a Howie story that I started several years back and got stuck on. I am determined however, to complete it come hell or highwater!!! I'm thinking I may attempt to tackle it after AWKOL. I have a bit of writers block, I'M STUCK and i hate it, feels like i have a burst of inspiration and then it just disappears in the blink of an eye. So yea i agree w/ you on that too, I hate writers block. I need inspiration and feedback from ppl like someone was telling dew. So I'm right there in the same boat and we all lost our paddles and are floating hopelessly down, lets just hope we save ourselves in the end, lol.

I know the feeling... I've been writing Always Be My Baby since 2004! I was on a roll for the first 1 1/2 and then it became so so with updates until I stopped updating. Now i'm determined to finish the story.

Lamont Dozier, a great Motown songwriter, gave me this piece of advice about writer's block: there's no such thing as writer's block, you just have to write.
I've been stuck with stories, and I know it sucks! Good luck girls!

LOL that is good advice. Sometimes I feel like if people would spend less time complaining about writer's block and more time actually trying to write, they wouldn't have writer's block. I know it's easier said than done, and there are times when you really just can't get anything going, but if that's an all the time feeling, you just need to discipline yourself a bit more and force something out, until it starts to flow naturally.

I don't write much anymore, and I don't write for any particular reason because I don't post anything or finish anything, but when I do write, I just write whatever comes to mind even if it doesn't sound good. I come back to it the next day, read what I already have written, change some things, and continue writing. That seems to help quite a bit.
Something else that helps: Don't allow for distractions! Don't sign into any instant messangers, e-mails, nothing. Don't even talk to anyone. If you just force yourself to focus on the task at hand, you'll come up with something (whether it's good or not).

^ LOL very true. I think writing was easier for me back when I lived at home and had dial-up, because I wasn't always connected to the internet. So I could just write without chatting or checking forums in between sentences LOL; it made me much more productive.
Nowadays when I want to be really focused and not let myself get distracted, I shut down all the messengers and hide the blue E from my quick launch bar so I can't click it so easily. That keeps me offline unless I need to be.
