Thanks Gozde!! ;D I'm so glad you like it so far; that means a lot to me!
I think that's what's interesting about writing AU; you can take the guys and imagine them as just normal people, what their lives might be like. I never used to like AUs, but I'm beginning to enjoy writing them.
Jori is totally based on my sister... kind of an exaggerated version of her, I guess. My sister is such a "character" in real life that I thought she might make a good character in fiction LOL. She IS a huge Beatles fan and a hippie, and I always joked that if she had a little girl someday, she'd name her Lucy Sky Diamond LOL. Of course she never would, but I thought it would be funny to use in a story.
This is why banners are a good thing; I figured if I made the banner dark enough, the title wouldn't seem as cliched. It will make sense as I get further into the story, if you aren't already making predictions LOL.
I hope to write the next chapter this coming weekend!

Your sister sounds like such a character, surely! I loved the name Lucy Sky Diamond, actually what I would expect from AJ(and a woman AJ would love) is giving that type of name to his kid. Being able to get inspired by the people around you is a huge bonus, it's amazing how much you can observe and take from others and convert and use them in the stories. Yeah, the banner balances the name of the story and i gotta admit, the banner's kinda scary for me and it seriously made me nervous to see an actual pic of a heart. I still really like it, nonetheless. ooohh, do NOT tempt me to make predictions or else my mind will start running wild!!! Aah.. guess it's too late! Sending all the inspiration fairies to your way!!!

LOL that's why I HAD to have a banner for this one, cause otherwise I figured people would imagine it more like this... or this and I'm like, no. I don't meant heart as in the lovey-dovey kind; I mean heart as in the beating one. (And yes, doing Google image search for "Secrets of the Heart" shows you just how unoriginal that title is LMAO.)

And yeah, I do think it's interesting to base characters on people... especially people who will never read the story, so I don't have to worry about offending them by the portrayal LOL.

^oh my god, the pic on the left is hilarious! A newbie to your stories could actually think that the story something like a Brazilian drama! Well, googling the story title is a pretty original idea itself

Chapter 3 is up!
It's a little short, but I wanted to save some for the next chapter, which will be Brian.

Julie! This story is great!! I always figured that I wouldn't like AU's very much but I really like this. Brian's is pretty sad already. That's why I love your writing; you make the reader feel what the character is feeling. I feel like I want to hug Brian and I want to smile at AJ and Jori in the baby's room together.
I can't wait to find out where this story gets to!

Thanks Karina! I'm really glad you like it so far! I know what you mean, cause I was never a big fan of AU... I think I just am into them all of a sudden because they're something new, and they work for more ideas. But it's cool that you're giving it a chance, and I'm thrilled that you like it!

Whoa.... either I'm completely blind, or I'm completely blind, lol. I totally missed this whole thread. I apologize, Julie. And I will try to read this as soon as possible (which probably won't be soon at all unfortunately. ) Glad to see you writing another story though!!

Julie, loved the new chapter! And the teacher's insight, I was like "Ok, someone's being their own inspiration here!" Loved it, absolutely (and the fact that not all the kids are likeable!) I really wanna read the next chapter, don't know if it'll match with my estimations, but this story is going extremely well as of now. I've been pondering the exact word to describe it for a while, and all i can say is, this story is vivid. The characters, the places, the happenings. I have already created the world solid in my head. Just like it was with Broken and By My Side.

LOL you know the whole saying "Write what you know?" Yeah... I decided to write what I know where I could LOL. Becci's not totally based on me, but I thought, if I'm just making up a character to be Brian's wife, might as well make her somebody I can relate to. ;D
Thank you so much! I've been reading Stephen King the whole time I've been writing this so far, and he has a way of describing things so vividly and giving a LOT of detail about even mundane things, and sometimes it seems like too much, but it really puts you in that setting and makes it all seem more realistic, so I've been trying to do the same, especially since this is AU and I have to set up the whole "alternate universe." I'm glad you like it that way!

I actually just edited the title of it yesterday; before yesterday, it was called "Actually close to starting a new story..." But then I did start the new story, and it's been posted for a week, so I thought I'd change the title of the thread LOL. Anyway, thanks!

LOL It feels like it's too much when you're writing and i feel the same sometimes, like i'm giving too much unnecessary details. But when reading it (if it's well written of course), the pages actually flow. You're right, Stephen King's writing style is just like that, I remember reading Bag of Bones and i was so engrossed in it that i actually jumped from my seat once while reading a thrilling scene. (just don't make me jump like that will ya? The heart pic is pretty scary already ;D) LOL, just kidding.

Thanks! LOL I dunno, sometimes I think it's too much when I'm reading too... if a description of a single thing goes on for more than a couple pages, I tend to start skimming LOL. But yeah. I'm rereading "Salem's Lot," and his attention to detail in setting up the town and the various characters who live there really help build that slow suspense and make it better once the scary stuff starts to happen. I don't get scared easily, especially from a book, but that book has some scenes that are just downright disturbing! Typical Stephen King. I love it!
